"It's always competitive. You can feel it. You step out of the car and you just walk away from it just like you know you got it and you know they are watching."

“競(jìng)爭(zhēng)總是很激烈。你可以明顯感受到那種氣氛。當(dāng)你從賽車?yán)锍鰜?,瀟灑地走開的時(shí)候,你就知道自己做到了,而且你知道大家都在看著你。”

We got more details of the crash that killed him from the veteran Hollywood reporter Gale Murphy.

好萊塢資深記者蓋爾·墨菲為我們講述了保羅車禍的更多細(xì)節(jié)。

"Paul Walker was traveling in a car with a friend. They were coming from a fund raiser. And bystanders or eyewitnesses seem to evaluate the situation as that it appeared the car went out of control, crashed, went on fire, fire department was called. Both Walker and a quot unidentified other person, both passed away at the scene. And he was such a nice guy. He was incredible eye candy. I had a wonderful time with him talking to him. He's a local boy. I mean, I was on local radio here in LA and we just had lots to chat about. He was very smart in a lot of ways. He was in this incredibly successful franchise the Fast and Furious all six of them, which was a massive hit internationally. And you never read about him in the tabloids. He managed to stay away from the feeding frenzy. And I have a lot of respect for anybody whose work is so use-oriented."

Road traffic crashes kill 1.25 million people each year worldwide.

But the World Health Organization (WHO) says they are preventable.

The report surveyed 180 countries, and it shows the number of annual deaths from traffic crashes is stabilizing. And that is good news as the number of motor vehicles grows worldwide.

But the data also show that road crashes are the No. 1 cause of death among young people aged 15 to 29.

Young adults around the world are the worst driving risks. Even in the U.S., drivers aged 15 to 24 account for about 30 percent of all driving-related accidents.

The WHO report also finds a big gap in road safety and deaths between poor and rich countries. Poor countries have only 54 percent of the world's vehicles. But those countries have some of the worst safety statistics in the report.

"Africa has only two percent of the world's vehicles, but has the highest death rate on the road." That is what Etienne Krug, the head of the WHO Department of Non-communicable Diseases, says.

Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom are leaders in preventing traffic deaths. The highest death rates are in Africa and the Middle East.

Stronger road safety laws and stricter vehicle safety requirements in developing countries would prevent many accidents.

Legislation can quickly influence driving behavior. In only three years, 17 countries became safer by implementing tougher road safety laws.

Some of those laws include banning drunk driving, requiring cyclists and motorcycle drivers to wear helmets and making safety belts mandatory in all vehicles.

There are other ways to make roads safer. Good trauma care after a crash can cut the number of deaths from road injuries in half.

The statistics are part of the "Global Status Report on Road Safety 2015," launched on Monday in Geneva.
